Cure for the winter blues?
A new study indicates that some foods could even help fight depression. A team of researchers associated with Harvard University, found that omega-3 fatty acids and uridine, two substances that occur naturally in foods such as fish prevented the development of signs of depression as effectively as antidepressant drugs.

Want low fat, lean, heart healthy meals?
Baking, broiling and roasting are the healthiest ways to prepare meat. Use herbs, spices, fresh vegetables and nonfat marinades to season meat. Lean beef and veal cuts have the word "loin" or "round" in their names. Lean pork cuts have the word "loin" or "leg" in their names.

Grandma was right!
Eating a lot of chicken may lower your risk of colon cancer, a new study shows. People who ate a lot of chicken had an associated 21% lower risk than those who ate little chicken. according to Douglas J. Robertson, MD, MPH, of Dartmouth Medical School.
And if you have leftovers, chicken soup apparently does more than work wonders on the soul. Irwin Ziment, M.D.of the UCLA School for Medicine, says chicken soup contains drug-like agents similar to those in modern cold medicines.
